Hola bafowethu (Hello friends),
Great to hear about some of the Australian sports. We’ll try to find some AFL on Youtube to watch!
This podcast was created by the Gr. 3’s and 4’s at Busisiwe Primary School in Soweto, South Africa. It introduces some of the sports played in South Africa, our favourite teams, and the upcoming Soccer World Cup in 2010.
One of the interviews is in Zulu with a translation afterwards. As always we finish with a song!

This podcast was created by the Year 6 students at Kew Primary School for the students of Busisiwe Primary School in South Africa.
After discussions with Paul (a volunteer working with the South African school) we decided that an interesting topic for the students to talk about in their next podcast would be sports that are played in their country.
Students from Busisiwe Primary School,
We hope you enjoy our podcast and we look forward to learning about some of the main sports that are played in South Africa.

Students in Grade 3 at Busisiwe Primary School in Soweto (South Africa) have recorded a short introduction to their school. You can hear about the subjects they study, what sports they play, and listen to the school song. They have tried to do the interviews in English, but watch out for some Zulu!
This is Busisiwe’s first podcast so hope you enjoy it!

This podcast episode gives the students and teachers involved in the show a chance to share their thoughts and feelings. The interviews that you will hear were conducted back stage before the performance and a couple of days after. So sit back, relax and enjoy!

Prior to the year 4’s trip to the lego education centre, students were involved in planning a podcast for the day. On the day of the trip, the year 4’s took 2 ipods (with microphones) as well as scripts. They reported live from the centre and interviewed each other. In the following week, students were involved in uploading the recordings to the schools network, importing these into Audcaity and editing as required. Some students were assigned the role of music producers and it was their job to create the music and export it as an mp3 file.
A job well done year 4’s!

Year 3 and 4’s recently had their annual Market Day. The students earned points each day last term for bringing and discussing newspaper articles during the Olympics and the points were exchanged for 3ei play money. In Term 4 the children were able to spend their 3ei at a Market Day where they were given the opportunity to sell their skills and crafts and home made products.
